SOFTBALL TRYOUT INFORMATION:

  • Date: Tryouts are Saturday March 6.
  • Location: Frelinghuysen Middle School (Go around the right side of Frelinghuysen School to the back door.)
  • Time: Minors start promptly at 2 PM--arrive at 1:45 to check in. Majors at 2:30--Arrive at 2:15 to check in.
  • If you are playing for the first time at the AAA/Minors (9-10) or Majors (10-12) levels you need to attend.

We hope to have uniform pants to try on so once done with your tryout, you can go to the uniform table next to the check in to select your shirt/pants sizes.

You need only bring your glove and sneakers. We'll have bats and helmets. They will spend about a minute at each of three stations: having a catch, catching some easy grounders, and taking a few swings in a batting cage.

Please tell your daughters that their performance here will not determine how much they play this year!!!!!

It is only to give the managers a chance to see where their development is. Managers look more at their swing than they do whether or not they hit the ball. More at their feet and hands than whether they actually catch the ball. They way they play in the season’s practices will determine how, how much, and where they play in games. There is no such a thing as failure at these "tryouts".
